At this point .. nothing will surprise me with our Gov't they do have a track record of causing chaos and destruction to enforce laws onto citizens and scared us into submission. We are trying to organize and learn about the chemicals. How they break down or don’t in this case. The half life of polyvinyl chloride is 2 million years. And our air and soil got a huge dose. Many mistakes were made from the first inclination there was a problem with the train to how they handled (the controlled release) by burning the chemicals which makes them much more toxic and are already they’re trying to calm us down by tracking our air for thing’s that wouldn’t be there anyhow. I am a resident of East Palestine Ohio and am VERY disturbed by the misinformation you have written. Yes there are Amish communities all around our area though none right in town.and only a couple families that may have been in the evacuation zone. Yes there was a terrible train wreck that spewed chemicals none of which were mustard gas. There have been dead fish in the small streams that got contaminated from the initial wreck/spill. These are very small waterways. 1 chicken and one fox died that can be verified. I know and have many friends and neighbors who have chickens pets goats and they are all fine. Was this done on purpose? To get to Amish? That’s laughable actually. !!!That being said do I trust that everything is fine(air /water) NO I DONT. Do I trust that the area will be remediated without coverups and falsifications? NO. We have enough to to worry about as a small community. Please

I think it's easy to think if you live in an area, you automatically know everything that's going on. Fact is, I don't whatsoever know what my government is doing, just by living here. And toxic waste wasn't OBSERVABLE to the naked eye, with Fukushima NOR Chernobyl--but the effects lasted for many years, and devastated the course of countless lives. While I'm glad you're feeling safe and comfortable there in OH, some--even if not you--need the citizen journalists to investigate the story, since mainstream media won't. --Robyn
