Laurie, thank you for that clarification and for the link to things that contain MSG. The list is a lot clearer than other ones I have seen. I learned about yeast extract, autolyzed yeast, etc when I got a dose from a bag of seasoned vegetables that caused a horrendous reaction. I have been avoiding those for years. I did not know about "anything protein". I have been using protein powder for smoothies without problems. I am not a big meat eater, so protein powders are a big help to me.

In its own twisted way, the Campbell's company is actually doing the more "ethical" thing in VOLUNTARILY disclosing the presence of any GE ingredients in its food-like products. Most brands don't want you to know and certainly don't offer the information to those who don't ask.

On a related note, this article by my friend JoAnn will shock you!! Campbell's also owns the Pace brand (Picante Sauce, Salsa) ... check out the genetically modified ingredient in this product!

I've Stopped Buying Pace Salsa and I Hope that You Will Too!

I haven't eaten that crap in over 18 years! I stay away from anything wheat, msg, corn, corn starch, dextrose, dextrin and maltodextrin. If I do get contaminated with these ingredients by accident I'm really sick! All this frankenfood fake vegan meat crap too is made from gmo corn and soy. $$$$ Keeping people sick is $$$$ too.

I have read that MSG can be called "natural flavoring" on labels, is that true?

I am shocked by how many organic products contain MSG. Try reading the labels on organic beef and chicken broth. How can they get away with that?

I can tell whenever I accidentally consume MSG because it aggravates Interstitial Cystitis. I frequently have an issue after eating salad in restaurants due to the dressing containing MSG. It is also in many flavored crackers and snack foods like chips - not that we should be eating them anyway, but think how much MSG kids are ingesting in snacks. Parents give little kids cheezits. White cheddar cheezits contain MSG. Goldfish baked baby cheddar crackers contain autolyzed yeast extract. It's everywhere.

It's not "MSG," per se, but "processed free glutamic acid" that's at issue. People refer to it as MSG, for brevity and name recognition. The organic label has nothing to do with whether or not a food contains this highly neurotoxic/excitotoxic stimulant. And natural flavorings is just one of dozens and dozens of names for free/unbound glutamate ... Check this list of NINETY of them!
