Two questions.

1. To use crypto requires the internet - who controls that?

2. If the entities we need to “pay” won’t take crypto, then what?

It is these unknowns which stop me from looking into crypto.

All I can visualize are black markets and underground communities using barter and maybe cash, silver, gold.......

There will be a LOT of barter. It's already taking place in the places that Jason Aldean sings about. It's fairly simple to find someone who produces something you can trade for with something you produce, or know, or can do. Be creative.

I agree with you ... what happens when there is no internet, or at the very least there is a controlled internet. And as a 35 year IT professional, I can assure you that they CAN and WILL control what servers you can and cannot get to. It's all in the plan. (And that is also why I highly recommend getting into shortwave radio right now as it's the only medium they cannot control. I recently wrote a book about this [A Prepper's Guide to Shortwave Radio] to ensure your ability to receive unbiased news. It's on Amazon).

Bottom line, for now, use cash. For now and even moreso in the future, barter. The government will expect you to collect and pay sales tax with your bartering. That is for you to decide if you do or do not adhere to it. I am not giving any advice either way :)
