My daughter was 10 years old and on our ride from her school, she asked: "Dad, is the world really going to overheat." As an engineer and a research scientist I had to explain to her the teacher was wrong and we couldn't affect the earth in that manner no matter how hard we tried and the only two PROVEN effects on the earth's temperature are volcanic activity and sun spots. At that moment, I became hypervigilant regarding my kids education. My daughter is now 38 with two beautiful children (girl 4 and boy 2) and my son is 34. The one class they both nailed, in school, was sex education. No out of wedlock children.

At 62 and a proud grandfather, I've been where you folks appear to be now. Here's what I've learned along the way:

1. Get your kids in a team sport young and encourage they find a sport(s) they can develop in. Insist they play a sport in high school, no matter how bad or good they are. They Will learn more about life in sports than in any classroom.

2. Wait until they need a loan for a house down payment or when they need your help with a home improvement or repair. Or when they need help with their taxes or with trying to appeal a medical bill. At this point, you will become the smartest, coolest and wisest person they know.

3. Fools Hill, is at 24 years old when your kids will begin to wake up and smell the coffee. By 28, you will hear them brag about "how much their parents have learned the last couple of years."

My 2 Cents

P.S. Push for education vouchers. Ronald Reagan lobbied for them and he was right. Use the voucher to choose any school of your choice or home school them (the voucher becomes a stipend). It's your money! Don't walk away from what you are paying into the education coffers for!

Wow thank you for posting this. I'm a 37 year old mother. My son is 2 and I am pregnant with my second son. I plan to home school my children because of all the reasons you've posted above. My friends and people I tell this to think I'm crazy but I dont care.

I see how the educational industrial complex has destroyed intelligence, common sense & created little monsters. The only way to fix this is for parents to take control and responsibility of their childs future from the beginning.

Your son is an adult, and there's no guarantee kids turn out like carbon copies of their parents. Trust your kid to find his own way and don't try to control him. While it's natural to be concerned about your kids (all parents are), perhaps you could suspend your judgement and see how this all turns out in 5-10 years.

I homeschooled my children from 2nd to 8th grade. We did Connected Parenting. I still have 2 teens that are "woke". 1 of which is counting the days until 18 and escaping our "ignorant views, values & beliefs." We just pray we are raising prodigal teens that will someday get it and understand we love them no matter what.

My main concern is that these teachers didn’t just happen. We are looking at the culmination of at least thirty years of indoctrination of our “educators “.

We as parents and grandparents have been asleep at the wheel for a very long time.

Home schooling appears to be the best answer. Another thing is we had better be vigilant with our churches as well. Many are not exempt from this plague of godlessness.

Couldn’t agree more. Homeschooling was the best thing we could have done, and I’m so glad we did.

I think you are as close to a perfect parent as one can get. This world is crazy. No one can be expected to keep up with the changes and take all things into account. Yours are pretty much grown now, so I'd stop sweating it. Just continue to show them love. In the end, that's all that really matters.

So sorry to hear of another youth being influenced by the leftist religion. I don't get it why leftism is considered a badge of honor by anyone. Suppose we could thank most teachers. professors, politicians, celebrities and the MSM folks. I don't know exactly when. But I'm sure the days are fast approaching when communism, nazism, fascism, marxism, and other crazy isms won't feel so attractive to so many people. Especially if they are sick, homeless, broke, hungary or destitute on every level.

Will be praying for your son, other young people and older people who have allowed losers to mold their way of thinking. These people may appear to be winners because of their wealth, influence and occupational status. No doubt here that many of them will be destroyed as Queen Jezebel and other evildoers before and after her.
