My Family’s Legacy: The Romney Produce Company
Eating Greens Is In My DNA–But It’s In Yours, Too
My family owned the Romney Produce dealership, for decades.
Even 50 years ago, we were warehousing produce for many weeks before it ended up on dinner tables.
We chemically gassed and waxed produce, 50 years ago. And the status of how we treat foods, to stay in the supply chain for months before you eat them, hasn’t gotten better.
Now, Cricket-Burger Bill has “Apeel,” a coating for produce, to make them last longer. You probably don’t trust that synthetically preserved produce any more than I do. (Watch avocados and cucumbers, for the Apeel label.)
Knowing all of this, it makes it that much more important to have food sovereignty by growing your own high-quality food.
Join our new FB group, GreenSmoothieGirl Tower Gardeners. We’re just warming up, to educate with amazing photos and instructions, on why growing indoors may be just what you’ve been looking for.
Especially if you live in an urban area, and don’t have a garden.
Nobody among my 6 uncles wanted to run RPC, so my grandparents sold it. And the people who bought it bankrupted it.
But I was amazed that my staff found this logo on the web, which made my day!
Romney Produce Company was such a big part of my family’s history. We were asked to be in a study of multi-generational families who’ve never had a cardiac event or heart disease.
We’re an absolutely huge family–6-10 children were the norm, two generations ago, and I and my 7 siblings all had 4-6 children.

I can’t help but wonder if it was because we ate all plants, before eating plants was cool.
Because greens and veggies were free, something was always available in our warehouses–and meat and dairy and processed food cost money! (My grandparents may have been business owners, but they weren’t particularly wealthy–Romneys are sort of infamously frugal people, in fact.)
Now, I carry the torch for RPC in a different way. I don’t have a warehouse. But I do permaculture, organic gardening, and I also have an aeroponic tower, indoors.
It must be in my DNA to eat a lot of greens. But, it’s in all of our DNA to eat a lot of greens.
Our closest cousins, the primates, have 98% the same genetics we do. And what do they eat? They eat greens, and plants, all day, every day. They don’t drink the milk or eat the dead flesh of other animals.
I am watching the “debt ceiling” talks in the US Congress, because legislators are sure to raise the debt ceiling, as they have 78 times before–this time, it may be different.
Republicans want to show some “fiscal responsibility,” reining in out-of-control government spending–and I would not be surprised if the massive meat and dairy subsidies go on the chopping block.
After all, our political landscape seems very controlled by the WEF, and I’m sure you’ve seen how much plant-based propaganda the WEF is committed to.
You could at least make the argument that that bit of the “fourth industrial revolution” is actually good for you–except that they want to make your “plant-based foods” in a lab. And Bill Gates has been heavily investing in all kinds of “plant-based” foods of the future.
A study recently tested 345 brands of hot dogs, and found 65% of the vegan ones contained human DNA (!!) and some smaller percentage of them actually had animal DNA in the product, as well. And 2% of the meat-based hot dogs contained human DNA, as well.
I want to grow my plant foods, or buy from organic farmers. I’m rather concerned that the current administration will dismantle the anti-GMO and organic certifications and movements.
They appear to me to be destroying it by taking control of it–such as Biden appointing a former Monsanto CEO to a top post--and profiteering from it, while hollowing the whole intent of it out, from the inside, like termites. Like they’ve done with energy policy, social policy, and everything else.
I want to encourage you to get a Tower Garden and start growing your salads and green smoothies, indoors. You have to assemble it and grow your first crop–
–and then you're a pro, and can grow up to 6 crops a year, with no dirt, no bending over, no working in the 100-degree weather, and no glyphosate.
So don’t wait till a crisis makes it more expensive or more difficult to start growing your own food. Check out my webinar about growing aeroponically, indoors.
Or get your Tower here.
The FLEX is for you, if you want to use your tower both indoors and outdoors–and the HOME is for people who plan to keep their tower indoors.
For help ordering a Tower Garden, or to answer your questions, anyone at support@greensmoothiegirl.com or the Green Smoothie Girl Facebook page can help you.

I just started with hydroponic gardening inside about 10 days ago. My first go at this type of growing. We've been gardening outside for 40 years and I've been intrigued by these indoor garden towers so started researching over a year ago for the right one for us. We have 8 raised beds and numerous barrels here in Central Texas but it gets SO hot here in summer and even some years we have triple digits by April. Drought is an issue here too and so are the pest. We do companion gardening too with herbs to deter pest. I also ordered Praying Mantis a few months ago. They hatched and I put them in the garden. Just saw one that's about an inch long now!! These are great little pest terminators! After checking out a few garden tower brands including the one you have I decided on the Lettuce Grow Farmstand Nook because of its compact size for our space in the dining kitchen area. After I master this one which really only took about a week I may consider a larger aeroponic Tower Garden for our outside covered porch. I need to see how we do inside with pest first because I cannot stand them especially gnats which I have an issue with here due to all my inside house plants. I'm doing various all natural things to tackle the issue including finding an all natural cleaning product to use on plants that deters the pest. I found out about it on another hydroponics group. She actually puts it in the water basin too! I've also found a Medicinal seed packet garden for outside and possibly to grow on a tower. Have to research this to see if we can grow them that way probably outside on a porch tower. The main thing is to just dive in and get going with any type of home gardening you can whether its outside in raised beds, containers, hydroponics, aeroponics, etc.! Especially in this day and age! Any food we can create on our own is a huge plus for our health and survival of the fittest! GlutenFreeLady
Gardening of any type is essential for all of us in any way we can as they continue to poison our food system every way possible. Plus you have the benefit of having a much more nutrient dense product from your garden to your table.
I have also had luck gardening hydroponically in my garage. All I used were 12 gallon totes with 2 inch holes drilled through the top, Net pots with coconut coir and some fertilizer in the water filled bin. I have supplied almost all of my greens through the winter here in Indiana. I continue to grow my spinach in it through the summer since it will bolt soon here out in the garden.
I also just got a vertical green stalk grower which is growing lots of different vegetables in a small footprint!
