(“Raw” in the grocery store just means “not roasted.” They are pasteurized. Ours are not, which means the enzymes and vitamins are intact!

Our ranchers also do not send the nuts out to be fumigated, or treated with noxious gas, supposedly against insects, but the rancher freezes the nuts for a full day, just in case of insects–a nontoxic way to accomplish the same thing.)
